Shipping a fast, studio-quality AI portrait experience

Client / Context
PortraitYou is Arctura AI’s dedicated AI portrait product, targeting creators and end-users who want high-quality portraits without learning prompt engineering.

Problem
Most “AI avatar” tools either feel like a black box or produce inconsistent faces across styles. Users want variety and identity consistency.

What we built

• A clean, mobile-friendly interface for:
  • Uploading a small set of selfies
  • Browsing style collections (illustration, cinematic, anime, studio, etc.)
  • Generating batches of portraits with one click
• Under the hood, we experimented with ID-preserving techniques (e.g., the InstantID/IP-Adapter approach) and custom workflows, balancing: the diversity of portrait similarity across different styles, generation speed, and cost.
• Style presets are stored as reusable “recipes”, making it easy to add new collections without re-training from scratch.

Outcome

• Users get consistent, flattering portraits in multiple styles within a few minutes
• Our team can quickly A/B test styles and pricing without big infra changes
• The same tech stack can be adapted for brand mascots, profile-photo services, or game / VTuber assets
